Product Profile

Monoisopropylamine (MIPA), also known as Isopropylamine, is a primary aliphatic amine widely used as an intermediate in the production of agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, dyes, rubber chemicals, coatings, petroleum additives, and specialty chemicals.

It is a hygroscopic, colorless liquid with a strong ammonia-like odor and is commercially available in both anhydrous and aqueous solution grades. Due to its excellent reactivity, solubility, and process compatibility, MIPA serves as an important raw material for herbicides, pharmaceutical active ingredients, dyestuffs, and various industrial chemical applications.

Available Grades

Storage & Handling

  • Store in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area.

  • Keep containers tightly sealed when not in use.

  • Protect from heat, sparks, flames, and direct sunlight.

  • Due to its low boiling point, special care should be taken when handling anhydrous MIPA.

  • Avoid contact with copper and copper-containing alloys.

  • Open drums and sample containers carefully because of possible vapor pressure build-up.

  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment during handling.

  • Ensure adequate ventilation in storage and production areas.

Health & Safety

  • May cause irritation to skin, eyes, and respiratory system.

  • Avoid inhalation of vapors and direct contact with the product.

  • In case of skin or eye contact, flush immediately with water for at least 15 minutes.

  • If inhaled, move the affected person to fresh air and seek medical attention.

  • If swallowed, seek immediate medical assistance.
